Training on water diplomacy and international water law: ENU launches a new discipline

At the beginning of the academic semester in 2024, the Department of Regional Studies at the Faculty of International Relations of the Eurasian National University (ENU) named after L.N. Gumilyov introduced a new course titled "Water Issues in Central Asia," designed for first-year master's students.

It is noteworthy that the initiative to implement this course originated from a member of the Academic Community Network based on the materials of the Training on Water Diplomacy and International Water Law, held from November 21 to 23, 2023, as a joint initiative of the USAID Regional Water and Environment Project, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC).

Aigerim Ospanova, Ph.D., professor, and head of the Department of Regional Studies at the Faculty of International Relations, ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov, emphasized: "We believe that this topic is highly relevant and will enable us to train specialists who will address challenges in this field in the future."
